Great Books!

If you like wizards, spell charms, and adventure, you'll love “Magyk” written by Angie Sage. By the time I reached the 5th chapter I realized I had fallen in love with it. If was a critic (and this is my attempt at being a critic) I would give it a 5-star rating.
Its about a family named the Heap's who had seven children – well really only six since the seventh was supposedly “dead”. His name is Septimus Heap and as the 7th son of a 7th son he possesses great magical powers. When Septimus disappears, his father Silas finds a baby girl in the snow and he and his wife Sarah decide to raise her as their own. They named her Jenna after Silas' mother. On the day of her 10th birthday the extraordinary wizard Marcia Overstrand tells her that she is the queen's daughter and has to make her way to safety before the assassin finds her.
Characters in “Magyk” are describe well. For example, Ms. Sage describes Jenna as a tall ten year old with violet eyes and dark brown hair. The main characters of this book are Jenna (the queen's daughter), Silas, Marcia and Boy 412 of the young army who protects and saves Jenna.
This book is special because the reader can empathize with the characters as though you are one of them. This book is good for all ages to enjoy. So if you like adventure, spell charms, and wizards, you should read this book because you will definitely like it. If you want to know more go to http://www.septimusheap.com

if I were a sound.....
If I were a sound I would be a theme song to my favorite movie “Howl’s Moving Castle” because it is so vibrant with different speeds and rhythms. If I were a song I would like to have a personality. The song starts out like a slow tango and then goes to a speedy orchestral rhythm.
Reflection on the Election
What I thought about the election is this. I saw different biases like that Mc Cain is too old to be president and might die. I also thought that the propaganda was a little harsh like in the New Yorker magazine the cover had a cartoon of Obama wearing a Muslim outfit and burning the American flag. Some biases against Obama were that he had only been senator for two years and was not ready to be president. Second his name sounds Arabic and that he is a terrorist, thirdly he is an African American and some who racially discriminate may not feel that an African American should be a president. When Obama did his speech I felt excited that we had a president who knows what they are doing. What if he was related to Martian Luther King? It would make sense because they are both strong speakers, like when Obama said “change will come” at his speech.

A Day In My Life
Hi, I'm Paul and I'm a person that loves rodents and magical stuff.
The first thing I do when I wake up is to wake up my dad if he is not already awake. Then I either play or do homework. After that I get ready for school by getting dressed, brushing my hair and putting on my shoes. Then I get to eat breakfast. It usually is cereal or eggs. Then my mom takes me to school. I go to High Tech Middle Media Arts (HTMMA). First I have math/sience then I have multi-media and then I have humanities. Some times I have x-block or exercise block but I haven't much lately......... mostly advisory. Then my mom picks me up from school and takes me home. At home I do my homework until my dad and my sister get home and then we have dinner. After that I play a game or do something else fun. Then I go to bed.
My life compared to what an 11-year-old in Spain has pretty much the same life style. They probably wake up at 9 or 8 o’clock and get ready for school, eat breakfast and brush their teeth just like me. For breakfast they might have a dish with rice, eggs and veggies or maybe something quick like toast and jam. Then they walk or drive to school. It probably would start at 10 o’clock since they wake up so late. Everything is in Spanish like their textbooks. Later about 5 o’clock they leave school and go home or maybe to a park. Then they go home to their families and eat dinner at 8 o’clock.

Getting in Trouble
Chapter 2 ended with Lina getting in trouble for being on the roof. The mayor of the city scolded her for being too curious. Was there ever a time in your life that you got in trouble for being too curious? Explain: when I was little I used to run away and hide and my mom would freak out. That is the only time I ever got in trouble for being curious.
